Hello! Welcome to 5/6BD, otherwise known as the ‘Bobby Dazzlers’! I am Mrs Brindley-Jones 😊

I have two young children and one goldfish at home that keep me very busy! I love to read; my favourite book has to be ‘The Songs of Us’, written by one of my most treasured friends, Emma Cooper, who used to be a TA at our school. If I could choose one of my children’s most favourite books, it would have to be ‘Cops and Robbers’ by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. I could recite the whole book, cover to cover, with my eyes closed!

And I am Mrs Daily 😊 When I am not racing around after my three young children and my brand new puppy Noodle (a toy poodle) , I love to spend time at the gym!

Introducing year 5/6:

Our history theme this half term is ‘Pharaohs’, where we will be delving into the civilisation of the Ancient Egyptians, learning about what life was like and what makes their period in history one of the most gruesome! Prepare yourselves for some stomach-churning tasks! Our Love to Read text will be ‘Secrets of a Sun King’ by Emma Carroll, which is a fantastic adventure/mystery story set in modern times with a gripping ancient Egyptian twist. In English, we will be writing our own mystery story set in Ancient Egypt. Place value will be the first unit that we cover in maths. Over the summer holidays, it would be amazing if you could practise your times tables so that you are ready and raring to be a mathsmagician in September! Science for this half term will focus on evolution and inheritance.

We can’t wait to get you together as the dream team in September - it’s going to be a fantastic year!
