Love to Read: This half term, our book is The Secret Garden
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett is a beloved classic that tells the story of Mary Lennox, a young girl who is sent to live with her uncle in England after the death of her parents. Initially, Mary is a spoiled and lonely child, but her life begins to change when she discovers a hidden, neglected garden on her uncle's estate.
With the help of her new friends, Dickon and Colin, Mary works to restore the garden to its former glory. As the garden flourishes, so do the children, who find healing and happiness through their connection to nature and each othe
English: English will be writing a Newspaper Report based on the fictional events detailed in our class book.
Geography: This half term, our Geography unit is called Majestic Mountains and here we learn all about the formation of mountains, as well as some very famous examples. As well as this, we learn about the sections of a river, the water cycle and some examples of important rivers. We are also lucky enough to have a trip on Shrewsbury’s Sabrina Boat, sailing on the River Severn!
Maths: Throughout this half term, we will mainly be looking at decimals, as well as time and converting units, including units of time.
RE: Our question for RE this half term is ‘What does it mean if God is loving and holy?’ and we explore key terms such as omnipotent and omniscient.
PSHEE: This half term we will be focusing on Relationships, learning all about what makes a healthy relationship and how to navigate the online world.
PE: Our Indoor PE this half term is Muti-skills with some swimming while our Outdoor PE is Rounders.
MFL: Our Modern Foreign Language is French, and we will be learning about school vocabulary and school life.
Computing: We will be looking at variables and Micro:bits!
