At Wrockwardine Wood CE Junior School the children in years 3, 4 and 5 are set homework once a half term in line with their curriculum focus area of work. This homework takes the form of a mini project incorporating a wide variety of curriculum areas and encouraging creativity. The children will receive a guidance sheet within their homework book which will outline the project and identify links and ideas for developing and supporting other curriculum areas. The children's projects will need to be handed in the week before the end of the half term. Pupils in Year 6 are set weekly tasks to help them to practice their arithmetic, reasoning, grammar and reading skills.
Alongside this children are expected to be heard read frequently at home, ideally daily, with a comment written in their reading diary. Parents can also support their children with spellings by testing them on their weekly spelling list. All children have a TT Rockstars login to practice their timetables.
