Hi everyone, I’m Mrs Slow and I’m a year 6 teacher. I have two little boys called William and Charlie and I love going shopping, watching films and reading! I also really love sports, especially football and going for bike rides and I’m in charge of PE and MFL (French) at school as well as English, while Mrs Platt is on maternity leave. I’m very excited to meet my new class properly and can’t wait to get to know you all!

This half term we will be learning all about ‘Fallen Fields’, where we will be delving into the history of Word War 1, learning about what life was like and what makes this period in history one of the most important modern historical events to take place. Our Love 2 Read text, will be Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo, a beautifully written novel about the life of a soldier throughout World War 1. In English we will start off with some descriptive writing, challenging your vocabulary knowledge.  As with every year, we will start off by revisiting place value in maths.  Over the summer holidays, it would be fantastic if you could aim to learn your times tables, remember this can be done anywhere and can be a fantastic car journey game!  In Science, we will learn about evolution and inheritance looking in detail at Charles Darwin’s theory of Evolution and what makes us - us!
