The philosophy of Forest Schools is to encourage and inspire children in an educational approach to outdoor play and learning in a woodland environment.
We have our own forest school area on site and regularly make good use of the setting allowing children the freedom to explore, investigate and get ‘hands on’ with nature.
Each class receives one six-hour Forest School curriculum during the school year. We find that it is a valuable tool for building learning power and life skills such as teamwork, problem solving and flexible thinking. The children use skills, knowledge and competences from a range of other subjects such as Science, Maths and Design and Technology during these sessions.
