Mrs Teri Bicker
Parent Governor
Hi all, I'm Teri and I'm incredibly excited to be a new parent governor. I have two children, one in year 5 and one hopefully will be joining in September.
Both me and my daughter think WWJS has bought on her confidence towards both her learning and social skills since joining in year 3. This opportunity is going to allow me to give something back and contribute to this wonderful school.
This last couple of years have been challenging for us all but especially for the young people in our lives. Most of my son’s school life so far has been experienced through a pandemic as will as many others and of course will have left effects. With the home learning giving me a first-hand insight to some of what a teacher is dealing with, I now feel even more connected to school life. As a parent I feel strongly about giving extra support for his next phase and as a governor I can express this and contribute from first-hand experiences.
I am committed to giving 100% and have a genuine interest in making a difference in young peoples lives. I will be a hands on governor, supporting staff, parents and the pupils throughout.
My professional expertise have been gained in various sectors and industries from fleet car sales to home designer for Next. I have had lots of years working front facing with people from all ages and backgrounds. In the recent years I have been working in recruitment and as a lead interviewer expanding on my interpersonal and communication skills.
Lastly I work hard to be a good person and a hardworking role model for my children, family and friends. I pride myself on being honest, respectful and self-aware.
I love a challenge and want to progress further and develop my skills in the education sector and I'm excited to be on the team. Please don't hesitate to contact me or approach me at school, I am here to listen and see how we can help.
Appointed as a Parent Governor on 03/02/2022 for 4 years until 02/02/2026
